TWI Passes U.S. Public Health Command Audits

In support of the Subsistence Prime Vendor contract in Afghanistan (SPV-A), TWI provides procurement and logistics services throughout Central Asia.

As a part of these services, TWI identifies potential suppliers of food products from Central Asia and helps prepare them for inspection by U.S. Government personnel. Recently, U.S. Public Health Command (PHC) inspectors audited several companies in Kazakhstan for various food items including fresh fruit and vegetables, condiments, pasta, flour, fresh eggs, dairy, and poultry.

TWI personnel have worked diligently with each local producer over the past several months with pre-audit visits, consulting services, and providing recommendations for improvement. With the support of TWI, local producers developed the proper documentation, technology, and processes to exceed the stringent PHC inspection standards. Overall, seven suppliers successfully completed the PHC audit and have been deemed qualified to supply food items to the U.S. Government.
