TWI Shows Commitment to Supporting Veterans
TWI reaffirmed their commitment to support our nation’s veterans today as sponsors of the seventh annual Paralyzed Veterans’ Golf Open at the Trump National Golf Club in Potomac Falls, Va.
Company representatives joined disabled veterans, military officials, business leaders and others to support Operation PAVE (Paving Access for Veterans Employment). Operation PAVE aims to end high unemployment for veterans, especially those with disabilities.
The 2014 event raised more than $400,000 for Operation PAVE and helped open new vocational rehabilitation centers in San Antonio, Tex., Augusta, Ga., Tampa, Fla., and Chicago, Ill. This year’s funds will go towards growing the program and supporting services that are provided free to all veterans. TWI joins many other sponsors committed to this important cause, and their contribution helped make this year’s tournament possible.

“TWI is fully committed to supporting our nation’s veterans,” said Patrick Malcor, TWI CEO. “We were very happy to support this cause and to do all we can to recognize the men and women who serve our country.”
Operation PAVE assists veterans seeking employment by providing free one-on-one job counseling and placement assistance, and support to all veterans, their families, and their caregivers. It specializes in assisting disabled veterans seeking to re-enter the workforce. PAVE counselors also work with local employers committed to hiring veterans to identify qualified employment candidates.
“We thank TWI for their support at this year’s golf open,” said Bill Lawson, national president of Paralyzed Veterans of America. “Their commitment to hiring veterans and assisting Operation PAVE will go a long way to support our returning troops who have sacrificed so much.”
Since 2007, 2,500 veterans have received services through the PAVE program, and 700+ companies and organizations in the PAVE Employer Network have committed to hiring a PAVE client. Operation PAVE currently has regional offices located throughout the country to serve all veterans. To learn more, visit www.operationpave.org.
About Paralyzed Veterans of America
Paralyzed Veterans of America was founded by a group of seriously injured American heroes from the “Greatest Generation” of World War II. They created a nonprofit organization to meet the challenges that they faced back in the 1940s—from a medical community not ready to treat them to an inaccessible world. For more than 68 years, Paralyzed Veterans’ national office and its 34 chapters across the nation have been making America a better place for all veterans and people with disabilities. (www.pva.org)
