DLA Exercises Option on TWI Support Contract
TWI has been awarded an 18-month contract option worth up to $44.5 million by the Defense Logistics Agency – Troop Support in Philadelphia.
Under this Subsistence Prime Vendor contract originally awarded in 2012, TWI manages a complex 5,000 mile long supply chain providing food and food service operating supplies to U.S. Forces and other designated customers in Northern Europe and Central Asia.
TWI’s experience on this mission includes support in both garrison and wartime conditions in as many as eight different countries simultaneously, using as many as three separate warehouse platforms. TWI was also recently commended by senior leaders at DLA for our work identifying, qualifying, and purchasing food products from local suppliers in Central Asia, a key element of the logistics support strategy for U.S. Forces in Afghanistan.
TWI manages the Subsistence Prime Vendor contract through its 75,400 square foot primary distribution platform in Frankfurt, Germany.
